Box Jewelry

Can I return a Jewelry Box that someone gave to me as a gift?

My friend bought me two really nice Jewelry Boxes from jared. But I dont wear jewelry! Would the store let me return them? I havnt even used it at all yet, its like still in the box the store wrapped it in...
Even if its just store credit, thats better than nothing. I dont want to sell them or give them to someone else.
So do you think the store would let me?
